hand me down breast bump?
My sister offered to give me her Madela pump that she used for about 5 months 2 years ago. She said I would just need new attachments; but that the pump is in good condition.
My insurance doesn't cover a pump so we'd have to pay for one out of pocket or maybe someone will buy it off our registry (i plan to EBF; then pump when i return to work at 12 weeks).
Are there any risks associated with using a pump that was used already? If i'm replacing all the attachements then would that make it sanitary and like new again? I told her I would take it since it would save us some $$; but then just started wondering if it's a good idea.

as long as you buy all the new attachments and other stuff you need for it i think there's no problem with using it at all! A friend of mine offered me hers and i am so happy, those things are expensive! You can register for the attachments you need.

My sister gave me hers also. I bought new tubes and attachments. So much better than spending $300 on a new one.

My sister gave me hers as well. If you replace the "attachements" it's really just the motor etc. I would save yourself money and take it! LOL

hand me down breast bump?
The pump itself doesn't come in contact with breast milk...just the tubing and bottles, etc

If for some reason the motor isn't strong, you can also call medela and they may even replace it (or have your sister call since it's registered to her). What a great score! Thanks sis!!
