Hair Extensions
Hello!
I am thinking about getting hair extensions, but have a few questions.
How expensive are they? How long do they last? How does the texture of the hair extensions work with your natural texture (my hair is wavy and I usually wear it that way with some product in it)? Also, I get my hair hi-lighted, does that complicate things/matching the extensions, etc? If you have them, do you love them?
Any help is much appreciated...thank you in advance!!!

Re: Hair Extensions
I highly recommend clip in extensions. I wear them every day. Nobody knows it's not my hair unless I tell them. I get compliments from strangers on my hair all the time. They are so much cheaper, less maintainence and no damage at all to your own hair.
Check out extensions.com to see what's out there.
It has seriously changed my life!

Re: Hair Extensions
Are the clip ins heavy? My hair is so thin so I'm always afraid they will be too heavy and pull on my fine hair. I'm dying for thicker hair!

Nobody on the planet has thinner hair than me. Trust me when I tell you. And it's fragile as all heck. (picture the thickness and strength of dental floss! ) And I wear them almost every day with no issues at all. Not heavy, no damage. They are AMAZING!

Look on extensions.com at the put on pieces brand or the hairuwear or hairdo brand. Jessica Simpson used to endorse them- but she is no longer involved. It's now all Ken Paves (her old stylist) I found they had the best color selection and most realistic pieces

Re: Hair Extensions
I use the 'Hair Do' clip in ones and they look so real. I like the clip in ones because they don't damage my real hair, and get the ‘wavy’ ones and the curl stays in no matter what and I love that.

For those who wear clip-ins, do you wear just one piece, or more than one? I'm looking at the hairdo ones and looks like they are mostly just one piece? I am so curious how this would work without seeing it (with my super flat/straight hair). Sorry to hijack the post but i'm also really interested in this!
Also, looks like extensions.com has a labor day sale going on until midnight tonight!

I looked them up. Now I want them. I just don't know what color to get

At the time I started wearing mine, they sold them in ulta so I was able to go there and see what would match. You can borrow a color ring from the website. Click on color help and they will explain your options for color matching.

I use the 1 piece. This is the one I get, but i actually cut it so its closer to my length now. I pretty much just use them for volume & because they keep the curl where with my fine hair the curl just falls out. http://www.amazon.com/Clip-In-Extensions-Jessica-Simpson-hairdo/dp/B000SKDTMI

Yes one piece. I used to use a 2 piece system but they discontinued it. And trust me, my hair is the finest/flattest you will ever encounter and it worked great.
Also- if you are using the synthetic pieces, don't panic if they look a bit shiny when you first get them- that shine goes down with about 2-3 wearings and then it REALLY looks like your own hair. If the shine bothers you, you can use just a little baby powder or dry shampoo to cut the sheen a bit.

Re: Hair Extensions
I have extensions and you would never be able to tell
they are $10 a p and I have about 65-70 in my hair now
they do not damage your hair
I move them every 3 months
take them out every 6
and it's been almost a year and I love them
if I don't blow out my hair- I braid it for a few hours and the extensions get s nice wavy texture
