Hair dye in the 1st tri
This is my third and I have never had experience with this is it safe? I know highlighting is a better choice but what about dye?

Hair dye in the 1st tri
I always heard no. I wouldn't in the first tri just to be safe.

Re: Hair dye in the 1st tri
I only dyed my hair once this whole pregnancy and I waited until I was pretty much out of my second tri (I did the same while I was preggo with my DS)

Re: Hair dye in the 1st tri
My doc said hair dye is ok. But other chemicals are a no no like straightening, perms or keritan treatment.

Re: Hair dye in the 1st tri
I have actually just started getting some grays
I was debating coloring them, I asked my Dr what he thought, and he said it would be better to just wait till the baby is born. He said why add the extra unnecessary risk.
He's right, so now I just pull them out, or cut the gray pieces really short haha

Re: Hair dye in the 1st tri
I dyed my hair at 6 weeks and then every 8 weeks from there. DS is perfectly fine and my Dr did not have an issue. I have highlights and base color.

My doc said it was okay to get my hair done. I would call your doc to ask.

Re: Hair dye in the 1st tri
i've heard that highlights are safer because there's less contact with your scalp. regardless, i probably wouldn't do it in the first tri, but that's jmo. your doctor will be your best reference.

Re: Hair dye in the 1st tri
i highlight my hair and was told it was fine.. the bleach doesn't touch your scalp
i did my hair at 16 weeks and will be doing it again at 27 weeks
ETA: i believe i also dyed my hair in the beginning too right before my BFP.. i just didn't know yet
