Hair Dye???

with my first pregnancy I waited until the end of the 2nd trimester and went to the hair dresser to get highlights. My doctor said it was ok

However, I do not feel like spending the time or money this time around going to the hair dresser. Is it okay to dye my hair myself from a box???

My doctor said it was fine but I am more nervous about it because with they high lights it is not really touching your scalp and I know my hair dresser uses natural products but with the box it is sitting on your scalp for 10 minutes and it is definitely all chemicals

Anyone else dye their hair themselves????

Re: Hair Dye???

I have read it is okay. Given your doctor said it was okay, you should be fine. Are you out of your first trimester?

You really just need to be in a really well ventilated area.

I am 20 weeks so I am in the clear. I am just nervous about doing it for some reason since it sits on my scalp for so long. UGH what to do - these roots are killing me but I am being cheap and lazy Chat Icon

Re: Hair Dye???

I wouldn't use a box at home. A lot of harsh unknown chems in there. Why not have ur stylist color and I knowww I will look much better than an at home box :)

Re: Hair Dye???

I would say wait and go when your feeling less lazy/cheap and make it a nice relaxing day... You know how it is when you go to a salon, they pamper you. Plus your preggos they will pamper you even more. Chat Icon

i think it will take more time and energy to do it yourself and lets face it it wont turn out as nice...Chat Icon

if you decide to go the home route then i would do some research as to any natural home products because my main concern would be chemicals and smell. They are always harsher at home...

Thank you ladies! I have decided against doing it myself! I am just not comfortable with it the more I think about it . I will go to the salon and just make a day of it. Thanks again

Re: Hair Dye???

My roots look like salt and pepper right now. My doc gave me the ok yesterday to do it myself or go to the salon.

I plan on going to the salon because i really want them to get every grey and to stay away from my scalp
