Had my first OB appt. yesterday
and it wasn't quite like I expected. The OB rushed through everything, didnt attempt any personal conversation (didnt say congrats or anything). And she was pretty rough with the internal sonogram. I got to hear the heartbeat for like 2 seconds before she turned it off, and then said someone would come in to take blood. She went through a 2 minute run down of all the appts. i would have to make... and that was it. Anyone else had a similar experience? Is this normal? It's a group thats been recommended a few times on this site but then i went to ratemds.com and found not so good reviews. I go back in a month to one of the other ob's so I'm really hoping for a different experience.
Sorry so long, just looking for some answers, I guess.

Usually they spend the most time with u at your first ob appt. Who is your doctor if u don't mind me asking? You can FM me the name if you don't want to put it on here

Wow, doesnt sound like a great OB to me. Like the PP said, usually at the first appt. they spend the most time with you. If it were me I would find another OB. I wouldnt be happy with someone just rushing through everything..

Same thing happend to me minus the exam. I really didn't like the NP that was doing the appointment and made the decision later on to change.

How long was your first appt.? I think I may have to start. I was going to wait until I saw the next OB...but maybe I shouldnt drag it out.

My first appt. After the exam I sat down with my OB in his office. We went over my blood test results, what to do, what not to do, my concerns, his concerns. We spoke for at least 30 min. I never once felt rushed and you shouldn't either. I'm sorry that it was a not so pleasant experience for you. If that we me, I think I would be looking for another Dr.

if you dont get a good vibe, transfer right away! There are soo many ob's out there so dont limit yourself. I didnt care for my first place so I looked for another doc and im sooo glad I went that route... If this person s like this now, impagine how they will be down the road when you really need attentive care... That would worry me
