Had my first internal yesterday...
I was 37w6d yesterday and had my first internal. My dr said I wasn't dilated yet but she felt her head and she was making her way down into my pelvis. Hopefully she will be here on or before her due date.

Wow how exciting that the head it there! I have my first internal next week..how was it? Did it hurt? I heard mixed things about internals, so I am very anxious about the appt.

I had my first internal on Wednesday. It was... unpleasant. But very quick. It was over in about 10 seconds, and I knew it would be, so I was able to bear it okay.

I guess it depends on the doctor. Mine definitely hurt, and I'm not usually too squeamish. But like I said, it was over in less than 10 seconds so it was fine.
When I made my appointment for next week, I chose to specifically see a different doctor, hoping he'd be more gentle!
