Had my D&C on Tuesday
What an emotional day.
Monday I went in for a pre-op appt. with my regular OBGYN and had one last sono. Still no heartbeat so that was it. DH was so hoping that there would be a chance that it would be seen on that scan and it was so had calling him to tell him that there still was no heartbeat and the D&C would be going forward.
Tuesday we checked-in at Good Sam and just to torture me from the moment I arrived until the time I was wheeled into the O.R. I was surrounded by babies. On the way to the O.R. you pass by the Maternity Unit. Then while waiting to go into the O.R. I had a front row seat to all the soon-to-be Dads in their scrubs going in with their wives having C-sections. By then I lost it and started crying. Thankfully there was a great nurse there that helped me through this tough part.
The surgery went fine but the recovery has been tougher than I thought but I'm getting better a little each day.
We are probably going to take a bit of a break from TTC right now. I know that's not the best thing considering my age but right now I'm too stressed to even think about starting again. We only have 3 more IUIs left and no IVF coverage. Not sure if we'd qualify for a grant but I'm going to talk to the people at LIIVF to see about that.
On happier news DH booked us a 10th anniversary trip to Jamaica in January. Who knows, maybe a nice relaxing vacay is what we need to get the ball rolling again.

Good luck and a mc is horrible and quite emotional. I just wanted to say I am very sorry. It took me 9 dreadful weeks to get AF ( that was our break) and I am a patient of LI IVF and unfortunately they do not participate in the grant

Agreed. I questioned it a few months ago and they said they can send me all the info but they are not participating in the grant this year due to financial reasons
Good luck, hopefully that changed

I am so sorry but maybe you can switch to a practice where grants are available! Taking a break is a good thing too!!! Sometimes the body and mind need time to refocus and recharge. TTC is an exhausting and at times daunting process, but it will happen for you too when the timing is right! Hang in there!
