Had my 1st visit to RSofNY
Basically in as little words as possible....
I am right on the "cusp" between having a luteal phase defect and not having one... hence, the two different opinions from my OB's. HOWEVER... the RE thinks that I DO have a short luteal phase defect. The game plan: Wait for my AF to begin.... get blood taken CD2 or 3.... then again in the middle of my cycle around CD14, then again around CD28. This will test to see if I am producing enough progesterone. They will also be following along with sonos. If tests show that I have a true defect, and I get a BFP.. they will treat me with Progesterone suppositories. Another thing--- he also mentioned that this may be due to my breastfeeding, since I only stopped in July... it was only 4 months later that I tried to conceive and got pregnant and apparently that's not really "that" long and that sometimes the prolactin levels can shorten my luteal phase. So... we'll see what tomorrow's appt at SHER brings... then I will be well informed to choose which RE I think is the best for me.
ETA---- just an FYI--- he also told me to ONLY use ClearBlue Easy Digital Smiley OPK kit... he said that was THE BEST one. Also told me to stop temping because its not that accurate.

Glad your appointment went well!
Are you sure it wasn't a CD 21 (or 7 DPO) b/w - that's usually when they do a progesterone check I believe.
It's always nice to have a plan!

Re: Had my 1st visit to RSofNY
my advice to you, dont give SHER any info about what RSNY said or what you think the problem might be.
Let them ask questions and come to their own conclusion. That way you wont question whether their opinion was swayed any particular way.

Just curious, who did you see at RSNY? They are all terrific, some more than others.
