Gym Pool Question - Do I have to wear a swim cap?
My gym has a pool and I'd like to use it, but I don't know what the etiquette is. Do I have to wear a swim cap???
Thanks!

I would wager that you do not have to use a swim cap. I worked at a public pool for 9 years and have been to numerous public pools including gym pools and ymcas and have never been asked to wear one.

i was asked to wear one at the YMCA. the lifeguard wouldn't let me in the pool w/ out one.
it depends on your hair length. you can get a cap for about $10.

Re: Gym Pool Question - Do I have to wear a swim cap?
Many pools require you to use one now for sanitary reasons and so your hair doesn't clog the filters. The best thing to do is ask the gym about pool rules.
But I used to be a competitive swimmer and I always wore a cap: 1) keeps hair out of your face while swimming and 2) the chlorine in the pool is very damaging to hair, and if you work a slight big of conditioner thru your hair and then put your cap on you can really help your hair from getting damaged.
