Guilt laying MIL

Grrrr! Why does she do this to me across the ocean?

Saturday DH called his parents and put me on the phone to tal to MIL. I made some small talk and MIL starting asking about how I feel (I keep telling her I feel normal, but I think she is convinced that a pregnant woman should be a certain way). We were chatting nicely and then she started to cry and tell me how much she missed DH and me and wished she was with us. I tried to tell her that now she can see her other son and DIL and her grandchildren, though, and she should enjoy it. We will see her soon enough.

She told me she misses us more than she missed BIL and his family when she lived here in NY.

I feel so angry with her now. I asked DH if she cried to him, but she didn't. I feel like it was rude and overly dramatic to cry to me and not to DH.

And to top things off, I know that it isn't really that she desperately misses us. It is that BIL doesn't coddle her and treat her as nicely as DH did. DH bent over backwards to accomodate his parents to a point where he suffered (and I did with him). He put their needs before mine. BIL is very abrupt. MIL is probably missing being spoiled.

Sorry that I seem to vent about MIL a lot, but I can't believe she is on the other side of the ocean and still manages to make me insane.

Thanks for the support. I really thought having the Atlantic Ocean between us would make things better.
