Well Im home.....
I couldnt commit to a 3 week trial....not with a 13 month old and my babysitting schedule.
The charge??????
Murder in the 1st Degree!!!!!!
It was an old case involving a murder from back in 1996....
ETA: OOooppss sorry it was 2nd Degree Murder I just read the article.

But If I was ever called, this is the type of case I would want to be on.
That's what my DH said. I honestly wouldnt have minded in some respects...
I didnt even get to the interview part. I was excused based upon "extreme hardship" I babysit and I have a toddler.

I was there just two weeks ago. I got selected for a jury but then they ended up settling after a full day (the 2nd day) of a waste of time!

ugh, lucky you, I was on a first degree murder case and it lasted 6 weeks

I always thought that too but after what we (the jury) had to listen to / see, trust me, this is NOT a case you want to be on. I am still traumatized from that experience

ITA. I was on a 1st degree murder case. It was very gruesome and sad. In addition, 3 other people were severely injured. One was paralyzed for life as a result. He was also illegal and faced deportation after testifying against his attacker. So sad.
