Re: growth sono
I had a growth sono 12 days before delivering at 39 weeks (so I guess I was 37 weeks, 2 days) and they measured DD at 8lb, 3ounces
She was born at 9lb, 8oz so they were a little off, about 1/2 lb...pretty close if you ask me

Re: growth sono
well, at 35 weeks, they estimated my baby to be 4 pounds at my growth sono. (underweight/not growing at the previous rate)
roughly during the last 4 weeks, babies gain around .5 pound a week. 3.5 weeks later, he was born at 5 pounds 9 ounces, pretty dead on.
they may choose not to guess a birth weight 10 weeks away as you could have a growth spurt on your end, your baby could have a huge growth spurt, you could lose weight and/or your baby not grow at the rate it has been growing on.
plus, i've heard there can be a 1 pound variance either way on growth sonos from time to time. for me, it was dead on...as stephanief pointed out, hers was barely off. in the end, even their assessment that your baby is 3 pounds/average could be off or change in a few weeks. at my level II, the baby was "on target" but that changed for some reason over time even though I continued to gain weight at the proper intervals so to speak.
