Groupon goods?

Has anyone ever bought an item from groupon? Not an experience or discount to a local venue, but something like jewelry, clothes, household items, etc? The prices are tempting, but how are they that low? What's the catch? Is the quality lacking? Are they knockoffs? I just don't understand how, for example, they can sell a watch that they claim is worth $1,000 for $45 Are they just hugely inflating the "original price"?

I have bought a dress, a pair of beach shorts, shampoo and conditioner, a super girl outfit for my DD and these round ice molds to make ice balls for drinks

All was fine. Not super super high end, but very nice and good for the price.

I think they do inflate the original prices.

I always read the reviews too before buying- sometimes they will say something runs small and to size up, etc
