group rates and cruises
I'm looking to start planning a trip for 14 adults and 15 kids. I'm curious if anyone has any info or past experience on group rates if available or any ideas. TIA!

Re: group rates and cruises
Try calling the cruise line directly, they'll tell you if there is a special rate you can get.

Thanks Janine!
I plan on doing that Monday. Just looking for first hand experience, pluses or minuses.

Re: group rates and cruises
When we were looking for our family cruise we were told that you needed a minimum of 10 rooms for a group rate. It was not based on the number of people in the group. HTH

Re: group rates and cruises
It depends on the cruise line. Normally, you need to book 8-10 cabins to qualify for group pricing and amenities.

Re: group rates and cruises
Make sure you ask about a freebie, for example, it's usually one person sails free, cruise fare only, port & tax are extra, for every 10-15 passengers. Each cruise line is different. Some go by passengers, while some go by how many cabins you booK! Also ask about extra on-board credit or free gratuities! I'm a cruise & travel expert, so FM me with any questions you might have!

Sorry, what I meant was to call them because there are sometimes room limitations etc for group rates. Like PP's said, 10 rooms need to be booked.
We went with a group of 21 people once, but didn't have enough rooms to get the group rate.
You can also look into getting a military discount for anyone that is a veteran of the military or in it. Sometimes they let several rooms book under that military discount.
