Grooming
Hello everyone . Can you share what at home grooming you do & the tools you use to do it.
I have a boxer mix and I'd like to purchase grooming items, but first I wanted to see if any of you had any recommendations. Pet Brush? Ear cleaner? Shampoo? Nail Clipper? Lastly, where do you recommend purchasing from?

Re: Grooming
For brushing, since Labs have a double coat, I use a Furminator once a month during shedding season(s) and a Zoom Groom from Kong at all other times. The Zoom Groom doesn't look like much but it does a good job. The Furminator can be dangerous if it is used incorrectly or too often.
Ear cleaner, we use a natural product that contains Tee Tree Oil that I got from Petco. It's in a green squeeze bottle, and has a logo for Best Friends Animal Society on it. We clean his ears once a week.
We don't shampoo him. Long story, but it's a Lab/skin thing. We shampooed him back in September, and have hosed him off three times since but that's it.
We started out with a guillotine type nail clipper but quickly replaced it with a dremel to sand down his nails instead. Now I take him to Pet Supplies Plus in Smithtown to have them done because it takes much less time and effort that it would for us to do it.
