Re: Greek Islands
Santorini. It's a bit touristy but it's beautiful and one of the top most romantic places in the world. I've also been to Mikonos and Chios (where DH's family is from).

Re: Greek Islands
I have a friend who loves Paros and another who loves Naxos. They are both off the beaten path a bit.

Re: Greek Islands
If you go to Mykonos make sure to stay at the Mykonos Grand. It is a great hotel. The service is the best!! You can take the ferry from mykonos to santorini. It takes a couple of hours. You are going to love both. Let me know if you need any other info.

Re: Greek Islands
We went to greece last Summer and the Greek Islands we went to are Santorini and Naxos. Santorini was absolutely breathtaking. Most of the hotels on built on the crater and you get a breathtaking view from your balcony. We stayed at Fira Stefani and took the bus to Oia, which you can see beautiful sunset!!! Naxos was very relaxing. We rent a car and drove around the whole island and toured the inner cities and got to know the culture and architecture. My husband is a photographer and he took so many gorgeous pictures! Other really popular islands are Mykonos, crete and Corfu.

Re: Greek Islands
I have been to Santorini and Ios - they were both great islands! In Santorini we did a day boat trip which was amazing and also just hung out in the town!
Ios is a smaller island and I think it is known for it's party atmosphere! I went with all girls in the off season and had a blast! Everyone in the town was so friendly and very welcoming! It is very small and there are no cars up in the main part of town which is built into the mountain. It is pretty cool bc we saw donkeys carrying bricks and construction stuff up - pretty old school!

Re: Greek Islands
We did Santorini and Mykonos as well.
Stay in Oia-Katikes is amazing if its in your budget and the Mykonos Grand & Royal Mykonian are both beautiful.
The ferry is a nightmare, just to forewarn you. You wait in line forever to get on, its always late and its blisteringly hot out (depending on the time of year of course). Then its like a cattle herd getting on, they throw everyones luggage into one area where I was pretty sure my suitcase was going to fall off the boat. When you reach your destination, relocating your bag is also fun! haha
Have fun and eat some feta for me!

Re: Greek Islands
Also look into Rhodes - you can visit the "Colossus of Rhodes" which is one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world.
And Patmos island has many significance in the Bible. The apostle John recieved a vision from Jesus there and wrote part of the Book of Revelations ( end of days, etc) there you can visit "The cave of the Apocalypse" there which is considered a christian pilgrimage/ ends of days theorists as well. All part of World Heritage assoc
Enjoy!!!
