Graco Snugride Question
How are you supposed to have it in the car? Can you have the canopy up or does it have to go down? Same with the handle-- is it suposed to be up or down?
Thanks

Re: Graco Snugride Question
I usually keep it up so the sun doesnt get in their eyes. My truck has tinted windows in the back seats, but sometimes that doesnt help.

Re: Graco Snugride Question
I also think that they handle is supposed to be either all the way up OR all the way down - in positions 1 or 4 so that it isn't right over the baby's head. This way if you are in an accident and it breaks, it won't hurt them.

Re: Graco Snugride Question
The handle is supposed to be all the way in the back of the seat in case of accident. For the hood also. I keep the hood down in case of the sun.
But I have to install those window roll down shades.

Re: Graco Snugride Question
Yup, handle should be ALL the way DOWN.
Canopy is OK to leave up as it is softer and made to give on pressure. So I keepit up to keep the sun out of DD's eyes,

Re: Graco Snugride Question
Thanks ladies. I couldn't find the book easily so I knew you guys would know. I figured they were both supposed to be down ideally...we do put the handle all the way down and leave the canopy up when sunny.
THANKS

That's not true. If you read the manual of the Snugride (if you have one purchased in the last year or 2), you will see that the handle can be in the complete upright position or the lower position (no in between). This seat was tested with the handles both ways, as parents were not lowering the handle so Graco wanted to ensure it was safe. And it is.

This is what the manual says to do and what we do too. I keep the shade up to protect baby from sun.
You can go on gracobaby.com and read the manual for the seat if you can't find yours
Those window shades that roll up or down are not safe in cars, they can become projectiles if in an accident.
EtA: I got the window tint static cling ones from BRU to put on the back windows, I already have tint on those windows, but i needed a little extra. 2 pack for 3 bucks :)
