Graco Metrolite vs Chico Cortina stroller-question

My daughter was looking at strollers today and found the Graco Metrolite and the Chico Cortina at BRU. The Graco is 5 lbs lighter than the Chicco. What she didn't like is the recline in the Graco. It does not lay flat. And I've read reviews that said the Metrolite doesn't sit completly upright. She liked the Chicco a little better but the fact that it weighs 25 lbs, she's not sure. Can anyone give some info? If you have the Chicco Cortina, is it difficult to lift and put into the car?

Re: Graco Metrolite vs Chico Cortina stroller

I have the Chicco and LOVE it for the fact that it has a HUGE under basket and great console for my personal belongs. It's easy to push and very comfortable. The adjustable handle bar is great for me and DH. (He's 6'4, I'm 5'1 and we're both comfortable using it)

BUT

I HATE how big and heavy it is. It takes up my entire trunk!!!! I hate it when I'm not using it. I would really have her consider that. Rarely do I fully recline DS. RARELY. I used it more for when he was an infant as a bassinet if I was sitting with him. Truthfully, DS slept better in his carseat than in the flat stroller. So, the fact that it fully reclines would not make me get it over other features.

My advice? Go with a lighter, more compact stroller. She won't regret it!!!

I had the Chico Cortina. By far the best stroller I've ever owned and I've had alot. I dont know about the Metrolite though.

We especially loved the full recline feature, large storage basket and how easy it was to push with one hand!

We lost it in Disney this year and I still Chat Icon about it all the time!

We have the metrolite and love it. It's nice and light, the storage basket is awesome, it's held up well over 3 years. Maybe it's been changed but mine reclines flat enough for sleeping and's upright enough for DD1.

That said, I have a few friends with the Chicco and they love that as well.

what about this stroller I have seen it at BRU and I played around with it, very light and reclines all the way down.

Check out the reviews, so far so good.

I have the Chicco Cortina (am looking to sell it actually) and I love it. Yes it's heavy, but that's the only negative, my kids both loved how comfy it is and it's got great storage!

I don't love the metrolite. I don't like the way DS sits in it and it doesn't ride that great. It feels flimsy. I've always looked at the chicco strollers and liked them. I like the way the baby sits up right, reclines flat and has the adjustable foot/leg thing.
