got my fertilization results......,,
3 eggs retrieved, 3 were mature and all 3 fertilized!!!!!!! Another hurdle done! I'm crying out of relief the 3 made it. Next part- transfer is set for Monday at 2 p.m. Now deciding if I'm putting all 3 back or just 2. Def not doing 1. Well talk to dr about it on Monday...

Ha! i hear ya.
Dr that did my retrieval- which is not my dr said she would out back 3. I'm going to talk w my dr on Monday and see what he thinks. 3 scares me bc I'm not sure if I'm ready for triplets if they all take. Twins maybe but not triplets. We're still recovering from Sandy so we have a lot on our plate as it is.

Ha! i hear ya.

It is a lot to consider! For me, DH and I's thought process is that we never want to have to do this again - so while financially we could manage okay with twins with serious life cutbacks lol, emotionally, TTC is not something we want to go through in the future. After all you've been through, I'd def put in at least two. lol.
Let me know what your dr says! Would 3 put you at risk?

YAY to having 3. 2 vs 3 is a hard decision. I would ask your RE how much 2 vs 3 increases your chances of 1, 2, or 3 sticking. I'm with you 2 would be good triplets is scary. Best of luck.

I am hitting 40 next month so I'm in that category. Te retrieval doctor suggested 3 but I'm going to ask my primary dr there and see what he says.

I would also consider the quality in trying to decide how many to put back... what your history is like (how many previous cycles you've done and what the result was.. ) etc.
We actually put 3 back in my first IVF cycle a few years ago and winded up getting pregnant with triplets!!! ( but it was from 2 embryos, one split- so technically only 2 embryos took- not 3!)
Good luck with your decision! Honestly ... if you would not consider transferring ONE and all you have are these three, I would probably just go for all three. Otherwise, what would you do with the one embryo in the end anyway? If you wouldn't want to do a single embryo transfer, then if you don't get and stay pregnant you will end up doing another cycle anyway.
So much to consider... it's never easy.

This is my first IVF trying to have a baby. Everything seems to be ok on both sides for us except I lost an ovary and tube to a benign tumor 4 years ago and almost lost other one last year. Between that and my very low AMH and trying for few months on our own, dr suggested IVF.
I have 5 frozen which I don't wanna touch yet since this ovary is still functioning. I would put 2 back and freeze the last one. If none took then I would do. FET next round.
It is so much to consider. I'm going to ask my dr and see quality of embryo but putting back all 3 scares me personally.

I'm 38 (39 in November) and while I know there's no magic switch that dries up my eggs immediately at 40, but it concerns me.
My Dr mentioned putting back 3, we don't know yet...I'm nervous. 3 babies at one time is a lot, and we both have to work full-time. ESPECIALLY if we have 3 babies. Plus I have a physical disability, so carrying 3, caring for 3.. it's a lot for us to consider for as a family.
I'm going to check the quality of the embryos and decide from there. If 3 is our best shot, 3 it is.

I'm turning 40 so I know how you're feeling. I trust my dr and thank god he is on call for my transfer on Monday. If he truly believes 3 is our best shot, then ill do it.

When I did IVF, I only had 4 out of 5 make it to transfer day. 2 good, 1 ok and the 4th not great. I put back 3. My daughter is 13 months old now! I was 40 at the time.
