Got a estimate on windows today
From a friend's father...
Regular windows...280 each
Bow window $2,000 (I figured it would be that)
Looks like we need more estimates.
Any other companies we should be looking at?

I just got two great quotes for windows and siding when I get home I will get the numbers for you. I have also seen homes that both places have done and everyone I spoke to who used them raves about them. My sister is one of them.

are you just installing the windows or actually changing the shape of the window outlet? My DH and his friends put up new windows at our friends house themselves, huge savings. I think a standard window at home depot was $65, but again this was 2 years ago.

I think a window is definitely more than $65, but you can save a lot of money by installing them yourselves!

actually $65 isn't too off because I just went on home depot's webiste and found this

I used Nassau Door and Window in New Hyde Park. Excellent experience and they were far less than HD.

I agree. We paid $280 per window (installed ourselves). They're Andersens and custom, they're not replacement windows. HD was actually more expensive.

I don't think that's a bad price.
We put in 12 new windows at our old house, and it cost approx. $4200. (replacement windows)
Having new windows is SOOO nice!

depending on the brand of windows I think that sounds about right
but I would get more quotes to compare- I guess b/c it's a freind you assumed a discount- but I don't think you got one or he is over priced to begin with

Just got 4 windows from Creative Window in Farmingdale for about $1100. Double Hung with upgraded energy star glass and frames with full screens. They are installing them next week.

Standard and they aren't a name brand like Pella or Anderson either..

Try Tela windows. They were the cheapest. 1/2 of what Lowes and Home Depot wanted for Bow and Bay.

I have also been pricing windows and have found they run $300- $400 per window, installed.

Please ask him how much 8 replacement windows cost, a bay/bow window with 5 panels and two basement windows.
