Thanks-- I am going to order wood blinds from Smith & Noble- then was planning on ordering a custom roman shade-- but I need two and it's $347 a pop! That seems high- I might have to go for it anyway-- I mean, how much does this stuff really cost??

i don't think that is a bad price. i was quoted over $2k from ethan allen for our lr (top treatment and drapes). needless to say, we have decided to shop around.

My Dad owns a custom window treatment business on LI. He has always been good to LI Weddings members. Just tell him you heard about him from LI Weddings.

We just bought wood blinds (fake wood blinds) from justblinds.com. I swear you can not tell the difference and they were only $70 each and we have HUGE windows (58x58). We got the white and then a cherry to match our bedroom furniture and i couldn't be happier.
Curtians on the other hand drove me crazy!! I personally found the best selection and most reasonably priced at JC Penny's. The store had at least 100 different options.

We have bought our roman shades and wooden blinds at blinds to go.

Thanks everyone for all your input-- I actually just ordered everything from Smith and Noble.. After I went through and customized-- the fabric shades were only $250, not $350-- so, with the special they are running now-- I saved over $200 bucks-- well, my mom did since it was a house warming gift--
I'll post pics when they come and are installed!!

He's located in Hicksville but he has gone as far as Maryland. Obviously depending on the size of the job but he goes all over LI.
