Good Faith Estimate
At what point in your home buying process did you receive a "good faith estimate" for closing costs???

towards the beginning - after I submitted the excuted contract of sale to them & then again after we locked the interest rate. (because it was lower then originally estimated)

we got a quick review of one when we went to get pre-approved.
Then when we applied for the mortgage, we got one. Then another one when we locked in our interest rate.

before we figured out what bank we were going to go with. I always asked for it up front
you don't have to be "working" with a bank to get it
I was comapring 3 banks and this was one thing I needed to compare
