Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
last week.
Seriously, at least 2-3 times a month. I leave him alone to go on a four hour run, bike ride, or veg out in front of the TV. And he "gets nookie" a few times a week too. As beeyochy as I sound sometimes, he has not much to complain about. I am the flippin foshizzle & I keep it hot and poppin.

Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
To be quite honest, I used to at the beginning of our marriage, but DH has never...ever done anything "romantic" for me. No flowers, cards, jewelry, etc. unless I beg and pester him. So, unfortunately, I haven't done anything in a long time. Not that he's a bad husband. He's loving and attentive. Just not romantic in the slightest.

This city girl went camping. In the woods.
I figure I'm good for another 10 years or so.

Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
I can't tell you a day in specific... but there are days where I will do whatever he wants, cook whatever he wants, leave him alone for most of the day since that is what he really wants sometimes.
I think I am pretty cool to my DH. He goes out with his buddy/ies every Friday night and comes home whenever he feels like it.
Since I'm unemployed now, I probably annoy him a tiny bit since he walks in the door and I am like 'blah blah blah blah blah blah' because there was nobody else here all day to talk to. He is loving the home cooking every night of the week though.

Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
It was Christmas. We agreed to a set dollar amount as we are currently renovating our home and expecting our first baby.
Secretly, I had put aside money for something I really wanted to give him but went way over our limit.
Watching him open that present was one of the best feelings I had all year
He does a lot of nice "out of his way" type things for me quite often, so I felt like hitting a home run for Christmas. It wasn't even the money, I would have spent more, but he had no idea what I was getting him and was so shocked, it was adorable!

Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
since DS was born our idea of going "all out" is taking over baby duty without being asked
seriously, we do nice things for each other ALL the time. i cook as much as i can (maybe 3 times a week) and i always try and make sure that DH has things he loves in the house, like brownies and oreos.
we never ever go "all out" for each other anymore because we are saving for a house.
but i did get him what i consider to be a kick-azz b-day present (i cannot reveal until after sunday because he might be lurking )

Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
Wow, honestly. all summer long. He works so freakin hard so every day is like a holiday for him - full meal, full clean up, full service. . .
in the winter he has more downtime and i get rewarded as well. . . .

Wednesday.
I shoveled the driveway so he didn't have to do it.
Cooked dinner.
Did the homework with the kids early.
Massaged his legs
Hit on him.
Was shot down.

Re: GoldenRod brings up a good point
I would say I tried to go all out Saturday...or to be fair...more "outer" than usual if not all out.
he worked so I
cleaned the entire house did the laundry made him lunch for when he got home (french onion soup and panini!) wore a VERY tiny dress and put make up on (I don't allow shoes on my floor or else I would have had the stripper specials ) cooked a french bistro worth dinner.
he hit on me. and he didn't get shot down. any one of those times

Yeah it happens all of the time. I always say "One day I'm not going to do this anymore - and d@mn are you going to miss it."
One of these days, I'll have to post about some relationship thing I watched on TV that helped in that department...it's sort of the Husband Experiment up a few notches.

So, unfortunately, I haven't done anything in a long time. Not that he's a bad husband. He's loving and attentive. Just not romantic in the slightest.
My husband is the same way. Great guy, the most HONEST and MORAL person I have ever met in my life, loves and respects me, spends all his free time with me... BUT when it comes to "traditional" romance- cards, flowers, telling me he loves me, being affectionate- ummm, not so much. I have learned to accept it as a part of his personality and appreciate the countless other things he does for me (like cleaning, taking care of my car, making our house into a beautiful home with his handiwork, working his azz off to make us a comfortable life)
But he also doesn't like or appreciate crazy romantic things that I would do for him. So I have adjusted my thinking in that sense. For example- I know that nothing makes him happier than when I take the initiative to clean the cat box, or vacuum or clean something ( I am TERRIBLE with cleaning and very lazy- he's a neat freak). So I try to do that to show him I'm trying. Or I don't nag him to go out when he wants to lay around and veg out and destress. And I ALWAYS send him off to work (he works nights) with a hot , home cooked meal- even if it means leaving my girlfriends early to get home in time to be there when he leaves!
