going into labor with a cold?

hey ladies...i'm getting just a bit upset b/c i'm due in less than a week and i woke up w a yucky cold coming on today. sore throat, stuffy nose, slight cough...i reallllly would NOT like to go into labor feeling like this or any worse. this is the first day in over a week that i woke up hoping NOT to meet my son today!

anyone experience L&D w a cold, or hear of anyone doing it? i read in some other forums online just now, women saying their bodies went into labor and the cold seemed to disappear. that sounds a little crazy to me, but i realllly want to believe that it's true and i'll be a superwoman too whose body will just say, "forget that cold, we're having a baby!" and naturally kick the sick to do more important things. does this sound like it could possibly be realistic to anyone else??

I've no personal experience but my sister said she had bronchitis that developed into pneumonia before she went into labor. She was put on antibiotics and delivered naturally but was unable to BF because she was so sick.

Here's hoping you feel better before you deliver. Try increasing your vit C and getting rest. That's what I've been doing since so many people around me have been getting sick...including DH.
