Going from nearly FT daycare to nursery school

I am still not sure what I'll do work-wise after I have my third child, but I'm pretty sure the kids will be home most of the week with me/DH and go to nursery.
Ryan will go from 4 full days of daycare (which is more like preschool at his age) to 2 mornings a wk of nursery school.
Colin will only do one (he won't even be 2 so the program is more like a playgroup)
I'm starting to worry about how Ryan will do being home so much - even though I know we'll get in a routine, have playdates, etc.
This morning he told me he doesn't miss me when I work, when I did a sad face he said, "no mommy, I mean I miss you, but I have a fun day at school too"

Anyone become a SAHM from FTWM when their kids were a bit older? How did they adjust?
Ryan will be about 3.5 when #3 comes along.

bump wondering something similar because my son is going from daycare to having a nanny - 3 kids in daycare is not possible

but i was planning on putting my son (2 in sept) in school 3 days a week for 2.5 hours a day
