Going back to work today...
After being off 12 weeks, I am going back to work I'm lucky I worked my whole twin pregnancy and was only off a week before they were born. I'm working 2 12 hour days, but they will be with my mom those days and picked up by 4:30 by DH and I'll be home around 7:30. The other 3 days I'll be working 4 hours in the evening when DH gets home so I'll be with them all day. My one son has PT in the mornings those days as well. I'm lucky to have this schedule and job that is flexible but to say I am devastated about going back to work and leaving them is an understatement. I hate that I NEED to work. DH and I both have good jobs but cannot live on one income. The guilt has consumed me and I spent my last day home crying. I definitely had some depression during and post pregnancy and I don't want it to rear it's ugly head again. How have you moms made it through?!

Going back to work today...
I think once you do it, it isn't so bad. Granted I actually wanted to go back to work. I've had a harder time as he gets older because he is a lot of fun to hang out with.

Re: Going back to work today...
I cried my first day back with my twins. I kept running to the bathroom to cry. I swear it took months for my hormone levels to level off. When I had my 3rd, I think I skipped back to work. Lol.
The first day was tough. The second day was sooo much easier. It was nice to not wear sweats, brush my hair, and put makeup on. And have adult conversation not just when the last time they ate or pooped. I loved sitting at my desk and actually having a cup of coffee.
Hang in there! Good luck!

Going back to work today...
The first day/week is the hardest...but it does gets better.!! 10 months later I still have a day or two when I wish I could be home with my boys but it's definitely not as bad. It's great you have a flexible work schedule and will be able to spend lots of time with the kids! Good Luck!! Hang in there!!

This exactly. I think I actually skipped back to work because dealing with a newborn was so scary to me. I can't imagine two! You'll be fine mama!! We've all been there.

Ditto. It gets easier once you get into a groove and a routine. And I also couldn't wait to get back- being home with a newborn was NOT for me by any stretch

Re: Going back to work today...
The first day is the worst. It does get easier. I cried my entire way into work that first day and anytime anyone even approached me to say "How are you doing? How's the baby?" I just burst into tears. It's still hard some days, but DD is great about it. She's with my sister half of the day and daycare the other half so she merrily waves bye to me when I leave her in the mornings. You'll be okay! And they'll be so excited to see you when you get home!

Going back to work today...
The Sunday before was a nightmare for me. I cried all day and I kept asking myself how I was going to be able to handle it all. But surprisingly, once I was at work with all of my friends and back into the groove, I was fine. I think it made me appreciate the time I have with my DS even more.

It's so hard, but know that it's actually really good for your children to see you work and makes you appreciate the time you have with them more. I find that when I'm working the time I do spend with DD is actually more quality time than when I'm off.
The first few days are so hard, but then think you can actually sit down and have a cup of coffee and breakfast in one sitting!

The idea of going back to work is worse than the reality. Going to work is actually like a "vacation" for me.
Seriously, I need adult time. And I love that my children learn so much in daycare. I'm not built to be a SAHM either.

Re: Going back to work today...
Initially its a bummer to leave them but once I got back into the swing of things, I was/am happy to have the "break". For me, its nice to have an identity outside of "mom" and to have obligations other than diaper duty.

OMG I used to RELISH driving to work with my music on, sipping coffee. Then sitting at my desk listening to the silence. It was pure bliss after being home with a colic infant who NEVER EVER slept

Going back to work today...
Thank you for the support!! I survived today... barely. I'm not sure this whole work thing is for me. I could probably tolerate a few hours a week but 35 a week... I'm not sure how I will do. I'm hoping this gets easier

This. I counted down the days until I could go back. I almost tried to go back early.
You'll get used to it.....you may even enjoy getting out and having adult time!

Focus on the postives. And remember your babies are being loved and taken care of. It will get easier. Your kids won't love you any more or any less if you work or stay home so don't feel guilty.
I went back to work a month earlier with ds2. I was sooo ready and like others said, work is a vacation compared to two under two. My son never slept though and is extremely high spirited.

This exactly. The boys are almost 3 now and I love spending time with them. When they were infants, I practically skipped back to work..

Going back to work today...
I had anxiety going back both times and hated that I had to go back! After a little while it became like it was our schedule and it was the norm, and felt like it did before kids. You will be ok! :)
