Godparents gift

So we had my dd baptized and had a small party afterwards(grandparents and godparents) at a restaurant. When we got home I opened the gifts and godmother gave dd these beautiful earrings( prices is handwritten $200) on back) and a frame. I feel so bad bc all we got her was a handmade frame( like something from estybut I made it). We really have no $. I just feel bad. Should I call her and say we forgot to put gift card in bag or found it in car? What son people usually get godparents ?

Some people don't even buy the Godparents gifts. ... no need to give a gift card, frame is plenty. Its a token gift. The big gift is choosing them for thr honorary roll

That's what I thought at first. I'll get them a cute personable gift. But now I'm feeling guilty. Thanks thought makes me feel better now.

Re: Godparents gift

Honestly, my DH is godfather for our niece and the christening is next weekend. We bought her a $600+ cross. DH definitely does not expect an elaborate gift in return, I highly doubt your godmother did either.Chat Icon

We got my twins' Godparents personalized picture frames. A lot of people don't even do Godparent gifts. I think what you made is plenty.

This... Spent a small fortune on my god daughter and never expected nor received any type of thanks. Didn't bother me one bit as i was happy enough being chosen for such a special title. If you do want to do something though, maybe a nice frame with a pic from that day. I think that is very sweet and thoughtful.

I agree. A nice frame with a picture from that day is a thoughtful gift.

My DH is the godfather to his niece and never expected anything in return. He is proud and honored to have been chosen as her godfather.

I didn't buy anything for my DDs godparents. Didn't realize I had to! When DH was a godfather twice he didn't receive gifts, and he got his niece a $600 diamond cross. Neither of us expected him to receive a gift because he got a gift. It seems sooooo silly to me.

For Christmas which was two months later I gave DDs godmother a framed pic of the two of them from that day.
