Glucose Test Question
I have my 1 hour test at 3:45 today. I don't have to fast or anything, right? The dr never mentioned it, so prob not, but I just didn't want to be turned away when'd get there.
Also, do you get results the same day? Was the drink gross?

no fasting necessary. the drink was not bad at all.... like orange hi-c and it really was not that much to drink.
I got my results the next day.

My doctor did tell me to fast, but then his receptionist made it sound like fasting was not important. I fasted to be safe.
I did not get the results the same day. They have to send your blood to the lab.
The drink actually was not gross. It was like very sweet Hi-C. I had the orange flavor.

I have never been told to fast, but I always did and took the test first thing in the am.
I never thought the drink was gross, I've had the lemon lime and the orange. Both taste like sugary flat soda.

i've never been told to fast. the first time, i got immediate results. with this baby, I got results within 24 hours.
the drink is not bad at all. like a very sweet, mildly bubbly tang or lemonade depending on which you get.

Glucose Test Question
My dr had me fast an hour before the test. Drink was like flat orange soda. I just went yesterday, but the dr said if I failed I will hear from them within a week - seems like a long time!

The 1 hr test is non-fasting. You can't eat or drink anything after you have the glucose drink and before they draw blood, but you should eat a normal diet before the test for the most accurate results. (Don't down a package of candy beforehand though!)
It's a blood test so usually takes 1-2 days for results. My dr only calls with results if there's an issue, so I just got my results at my next appt the following month.

Glucose Test Question
I was told to eat normal meals throughout the day but to try not to eat 2 hours before starting the drink if possible. My test was at 5 so I had lunch at 1ish and then just started my drink at 4.
I got the results the next day.
