Giving older child MMR while you're pregnant
Has anyone done this or had experience with this? DD is 20 months and I was planning to give her the MMR before she starts daycare just to be safe. I recently heard someone mention kids possibly being contagious after the vaccine and that it could be an issue to be around them pregnant. I'm going to call my doctor and ask but I'm wondering if anyone here has dealt with this?

Holy crap! Didn't even think of this and DD is scheduled to get her MMR tomorrow. I haven't had my initial preg blood work yet either to test my rubella immunity. I left a message for my obgyn, let me know what yours says!

Re: Giving older child MMR while you're pregnant
It is a live virus vaccine so very small amounts of it can be in saliva, etc after they get it. The ped said to not go near anyone who is immuno compromised - such as a chemo patient, etc... but he never mentioned pregnant women.
I'd call your ob gyn though- just to be safe/
