Give me your best Cold and Cough remedy
My 17 month old has been a mess that past couple of weeks. I'm sure daycare doesn't help but he just can't seem to shake his cough, cold and congestion...any remedies I should try?

Give me your best Cold and Cough remedy
I put a onesie underneath her PJs and slather Vicks (regular, not the kids one) on the onesie.
Humidifier every time she goes down for a nap or bed.
Use saline and the nasal suction thing before nap or bed. She fights this part, but it helps so I force it.

Love the vick's plug in vaporizer too... ibuprofen, warm bath before bed. I hate that there is so little we can do for them for colds!

Lots of water. No dairy or sugar(weakens the immune system). run a humidifier at night. Put Vicks on the feet and cover with socks. I also use essential oils in a diffuser (eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, cinnamon and clove bud). Raw honey with lemon also helps to strengthen the immune system as well as elderberry syrup and water with ginger. I do this with my kids and it usually knocks out a cold/ cough within a day or two.

Benadryl- call the ped office for the right dose.
Zarbees- all natural- just honey. Ok for children 1 year and over. Really soothes the throat- CVS has it . Contains no drugs. Google it.

Saline spray
Use the boogie sucker all day along with the saline spray
Vicks on feet
Vicks plug in
Benadryl
Lots of water

The vicks worked! I also got little remedies honey elixir! He slept all night long and so did I. Thanks again!

Where do you find the elderberry syrup??

I swear by the Little Remedies Honey Elixir!
But also:
Cool mist humidifier
Saline drops
Use the boogie sucker all day along but carefully not to dry her out.
Baby Vicks on feet
Baby Vicks on her chest then a onesie
Baby Vicks on her back too
Regular Vicks plug in
Benadryl (doc ok'ed it)
Lots of water
Elevate to drain

I give my kids a tsp a day during cold and flu season. If they get sick, I increase it to 2-3x.
Elderberry extract
I also use this raw honey. It is more effective than the stuff you buy at the grocery store.
