Give me the lowdown on Menopur
This is the protocol I will be on for my IVF cycle- BCPs 10-21 days, Menopur for 10 and Ganarelix for the last 3 of the 10 as well. So, who has ever taken Menopur sp? Is it powders that have to be mixed? I will be on 4000 iu does that mean 4 shots per day? Where? Of course I will ask them all of this but I wanted some advice from you all and to start looking ahead as I wait for the beeotch to arrive.

Super easy. I was on menupur, Its powder and you can mix up to 5 viles of the powers with 1cc of dilutent. I had no issues with it expect that it burns a bit as you inject.

I was on it and it burns a little bit nothing bad. The first time you mix you may be like OMG this is crazy but then it becomes secong nature-basically you're taking your liquid injecting it iinto container #1 then drawing out then injecting into #2 and drawing out and so on.

At first i was kinda scared about the mixing part. I only had the gonal-f pen (which I love, well not that much) and the ovidrel that is pre-filled. But, it was really easy to do. The only tricky part is turning it upside town and figuring out how to hold it and draw down on the syringe. It did sting slightly but nothing like the time I didn't wait for the alcohol to dry (ouch!).
Good luck! When do you think your ER will be? I think mine will be about May 25th'ish. I start my estrogen patch on Monday. The roller coaster is about to begin again.

Thanks! I should find out tomorrow but probably about a week after you. I have 3 weeks of BCPs to do and then 10 days of injects. I should be starting BCPs tomorrow or Friday. I cannot believe its getting so close. I am freaked about the injects though. Does the menopur go in the stomach?

You can do thigh or stomach for SubQ shots. I take it in the stomach. One b/c I think it works better (though no proof) and two b/c my thighs seems to get marked up with tiny red dots where the shot went in and my stomach doesn't do this. it was weird, but I don't like looking like a drug addict. Not that anyone see my thighs, though I think DH would like to see them more.
