girls who already had level 2...
what else do they measure? do they point out what everything is?
wait - - they do BOTH an internal and external sono?? i thought it was only external?

At the place I went, she needed ALOT of measurements so she turned the screen away from me and did everything she needed to do. DH was able to see it all but I wasnt. After she got all the measurements, she turned the screen and showed us the heart, the face, the feet and the  proof.

They measure every part of the baby, and yes my sono girl pointed out the parts of what she was measuring, it takes awhile, you can find out the sex too,
then they did an internal too and the end

I had to have a full bladder for the over the belly sono and then I was told to empty it for the internal sono.

My High risk Dr's office did the level 2 and they make me always empty my bladder before hand. I think it depends on what kind of Sono. equipment your dr has.
They photograph and measure, head, spine, kidneys, heart (check the chambers), feel, hands, tummy,gosh everything. (placenta, arteries connecting to baby, bloodflow to baby, everything )
I also have a quick internal sono. every 2 weeks to check my cervix, so I am not sure if that goes along with someone who is not high risk on thier Level 2 or not.
It was definitely a positive experience, I am sure you will love it!

You should also ask if they are using a 3D machine...(its just a switch they flip to go from regular sono to the 3D).
I didn't have a full bladder but I did have to go a little and she said to hold it. I then emptied it (in a cup!) for the internal...and I thought they only did the internal to check out my placenta to see if it moved but I'm not sure about that.
GOOD LUCK TOMORROW! DH is going right? I wonder if he'll be strong enough to hold out on finding out the sex!

They told me to have a full bladder, but made me empty as soon as she put the sono instrument on my belly b/c my bladder was REALLY full. I only had an external sono, no internal. Guess if they couldn't get clear readings on stuff they would have done the internal too maybe.

I had to have my bladder full!!! and NO internal. They went through the baby showing us every part and reassuring that all is great!!! They also gave us the It's A Girl news!!  It was a really great experience!!!
