girls that had their bathroom redone..

what kind of tub (if so) did you get?

cast iron?
fiberglass?
other..?

and can you tell me why? i dont really want a cast iron but i want to know what the other types are like.

We went with a cast iron tub from Kohler.
We had limited space so a jet tub was out of the question (not that necessarily I would have gone that route if I had the choice) and I'm not a fan of fiberglass/plastic tube.
I liked the size & shape of the cast iron and I like that it maintains heat in a bath. It's a nice, sturdy tub.

We went with cast iron since it holds heat better and absorbs sound better. It was only a little more than the fiberglass one so we figured it was worth it.

It's also much heavier too. Two years later I'm still listening to my friend (our plumber) complain about the weight !!

Fiberglass is technically a higher-end fancier plastic. It will wear poorly and in 10 years will be not so hot. Cast Iron will last forever and will look good for longer. We did cast iron Kohler in our new bath and are very happy!

We did a Kohler fiberglass or whatever it's called tub. I like it, looks good. Its a deeper tub too, a "soaking" tub.

I didn't want to bother with the hassle of cast iron.
