Gift to bring as weekend guests
We are spending the weekend with friends at their vacation home. We will definitely bring a nice bottle of wine (or 2), but what else would be nice to bring as a gift? (it's for this weekend, so won't have time to order online.)
Thanks!

Re: Gift to bring as weekend guests
It depends on the people but I would bring wine and they pay for dinner one of the nights you are out.
Hostess gifts are nice, but I personally don't need any more vases, frames etc.
If you are still looking to bring something than maybe wine and flowers or a basket of some fall items or a nice throw blanket (can't ever have enough of those)!

Yes, we will also take them out to dinner, but just wanted to bring a little something also. Thanks!

If i'm going to OOS visitors (and we're driving), i always bring a dozen bagels.
They can be frozen and are ALWAYS appreciated

Gift to bring as weekend guests
We usually send a thank you gift afterwards like flowers. Recently we stayed with friends in San Francisco that used to live in NY and sent them bagels--they were ecstatic!

Re: Gift to bring as weekend guests
I would bring a couple of bottles of wine, some nice cookies or home made pie from a nice bakery etc and an orchid...then I would pay for dinner one night too.
Have fun!

Gift to bring as weekend guests
Thanks for the ideas. Things like bagels or a plant wouldn't work because they don't live there - it is their vacation house, about a 2 hour drive away. They live right by us and we will be driving there with them. So they can get good bagels whenever they want and no one is there full time to care for a plant. But will get something else from the suggestions

Re: Gift to bring as weekend guests
I always bring wine and I just got these really great beach themed flameless candles at Bed bath and beyond to bring my Aunt when we go to stay at her house n Montauk for Columbus weekend.
Candles Wine a fancy wine bottle stopper Reed diffuser and oil (a pretty decorative one) Baked by Melissa (this has been my go to lately)

Gift to bring as weekend guests
I usually bring a bottle (or 5!) of wine and a homemade dessert.
After our visit, I like to print and frame a nice photo I took from the weekend to give to the hosts

I would get a cute basket and put in a throw blanket, bottle of wine, and a fall candle and wrap it all up.

Re: Gift to bring as weekend guests
If you have spoken to the hosts about bringing breakfast for one of the days then I think that the bagels, spreads, fruit is a great idea. I wouldn't just show up with that though since if they are hosting you they might already gone out and purchased food for everyone.
I like the idea of paying for a dinner out if you are all going out to dinner one night.
A lot of gift ideas would really depend on the family involved - kids (games that the whole family and guests can play would be great)? older and established (things like nice towels - bath, hand, kitchen) are a nice gift, especially at a vacation house where you are constantly doing a lot of laundry and hosting guests)?, etc.

I like this idea!!
Or, after you get back send them a nice gift basket to their house from somewhere like Harry and David, get one filled with fruit, chocolates, and maybe some cookies. Everyone likes a basket of goodies.
