gift suggestion - 3 yo boy
we have a birthday party next weekend for a 3 year old boy and i am unsure what to get him...any suggestions? Is a gift card to Toys R Us an option at that age or are toys better?

At that age they love opening toys. Not sure if they get the concept of a gift card, but it's still a great gift.
For a 3 year old boy I think Thomas the train, cars, dinosaurs, outdoor toys ( a scooter) would all be a hit.

I have a 3yo boy and he's be happy with any type of car, truvk, train, airplane toy. He's also into all the super heroes right now so he'd LOVE anything Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America, etc. related!

I sometimes go by what the theme is on the birthday invite. Cars, superhero, etc.
race cars, remote control cars, outside toys are always good this time of year, wall tracks, etc.
I also like to put together a theme. Outside toys you can do shovel and pail and put in water shooter, fish stickers and activity books, beach ball, etc.
Also, one of our fav gifts we get from friends is a book at B&N along with a GC to go there. That's always good and useful.

Probably an action figure and then a GC.

My 3 year old loves his Landscape toys. Bubble blower & mower are a huge hit over here. Also his wiffle balls, tee & bat gets used every day for several hours a day. He loves hitting the ball.

We have gone to a few bday parties for boys in dd's class.
They like superheroes. I got 1 boy a Spider-Man bubble maker w extra spidey bubbles and for another boy I got a mess free crayola finger painting kit.

my son turned 3 in November, and got this for Christmas... he LOVES it, and still plays with it almost daily. they can take it apart with the little "screwdriver" and he likes playing around by putting different pieces back on it, or leaving certain pieces off... keeps him busy for awhile
