Gift question...need real opinions please

If you had 2 children (6 and 3) and were living in a small rented house while your new house was being built, and there's a possibility you may be moving in right before the holidays and everything would probably be a huge mess....

Would you still want people to give you big gifts, or would you want something smaller since you may still be in the rental house or the new house might not be in order???

I am torn because we tend to get my nephews decent sized presents and I don't wanna make too much clutter for them, but sometimes my SIL has a habit of making me feel bad for doing so...I could SOOOOOOOO picture her saying that the gift is too big for the rental house or will clutter up the new house...or that small gifts are cheap...

i would get them the big gift if that is what you want to do but hold onto it for wen they move into the house (since it seems like that may happen soon)

I would stay with the big gifts. We live in a small house and it honestly doesn't bother me when people give my girls big gifts, especially once I see the looks on their faces!

I'm assuming the 6 year old is into things like DS now. Maybe get a few games (which are not cheap)

For the 3 year old, you don't necessarily have to get something that is "Big" - just something fun. Not sure if it's a boy or a girl - but I have a 3 year old boy so let me know if you want suggestions!

This is why I do a wishlist for my family, and they now do one for their kids. It is soooo much easier. No one knows what other people have/or want.
