Getting to Mount Sinai Hospital - Mass Transit - Update
what is the best (shortest) way to get to Mount Sinai Hospital from Nassau County>
Thank you
Did some searching...
I could take the E subway from Penn Station to Lexington...then change to the 6 Subway north to 96th St. Turn right and walk to 98th St.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: Getting to Mount Sinai Hospital - Mass Transit
I'm delivering at Mount Sinai!
I wouldn't say there is a short way but here are a few options (if you take the train to Penn Station)
Are you okay with a few subway changes? From Penn, you'd want to take the 1, 2, or 3 uptown one stop to Times Square, then take the shuttle train to Grand Central, and then the 6 train to 96th Street (you could take the 4 or 5 express trains to 86th Street and then switch to the 6 if you were in a hurry). You'd just need to walk a few blocks from the train.
Or--less subways but a bus--From Penn, you could just take the 2 or 3 trains up to 96th Street and then take the M96 bus across town. This might actually be the shorter way.

Re: Getting to Mount Sinai Hospital - Mass Transit
Honestly, driving is the easiest in my opinion.
There isn't a direct route via the train and would take me longer than just driving in and parking.

I worked there for over 2 years. Fastest way I found was lirr to penn, then c train to 96th (if I could catch the A at penn I would switch at Columbus circle to the C or B) and the m96 bus across the park.
Easiest way is lirr to penn, then take the e to 51st and Lexington and transfer to the 6 to 96th but that took longer.

You can actually take the E train right from Penn and transfer to the 6 going uptown at 53rd and Lex. Pretty easy - just one subway change.

Yep! There are obviously a ton of ways to get there via subway or bus but not one direct route. If you are okay driving and parking, that's definitely the best option. If you take the RFK Triborough, it's really a straight shot across 96th Street.

This is just one subway change, but the change is also a pretty good walk underground.
I'd drive, if I were you, to OP.

Depends on the time of day. During rush hr less time because the connection won't be long. Google maps will give you estimates.

Sorry just saw this.
I would say it could take as little as 25 minutes to as many as 45 minutes or more depending on the timing of the trains.
The PP poster is right that it's a bit of a walk from the E to the 6 at Lexington Ave (like a good 5 minutes probably) but as long as you're able bodied and you budget time for it it's manageable.

Is the walk between the E and the 6 at Lexington totally underground? Or do you have to go up to street level?
Thanks

All underground. It's really not that far either.

It's all underground but it's up a huge escalator/staircase. If you're in the right spot on the train (I want to say back of the train, heading towards Queens), it's not bad. It's just the giant escalator that's a PITA.

So you get on the E Train going East to the Lexington Ave Station. Then, you follow signs to the 6 Train..and you go up one long, long escalator. Then you follow sings to 6 Train north
Thanks so much
