Getting rid of the bottle?

DS is almost 16 months and I'm starting to try to get rid of the bottle. First to go was the afternoon, pre-nap bottle. I've been giving him milk in a sippy at the same time I used to give the bottle, but now I'm finding that he won't drink his milk at all. I'm just worried that if I cut out the morning and bedtime bottles and give him milk in a cup, he wont' drink it then either. He's not a good eater, so I'm just a little concerned he won't be getting the calories, not to mention the nutrition he needs (I still give him formula at night for the vitamin content mostly).

Anyoen have any advice?

Re: Getting rid of the bottle?

Well, here's what my pediatrician told me.

He said to cut out the bottles because it will naturally cause them to drink LESS milk, and that is what they want because they will have to supplement it with MORE food.

Now, I'm noticing he's eating a lot more food since we took him off the bottle because he's drinking less milk and its filling him up less. Not sure if you want to just give that a shot. Chat Icon
