Getting rid of bottles
DD isn't a bottle addict, but will only drink on ounce TOPS out of anything else! Very frustrating...

Re: Getting rid of bottles
I just went completely cold turkey with my DD. She was annoyed but got it over fast. I felt it was easier to just get rid of them all at once as opposed to a slow transition.

Re: Getting rid of bottles
It's not always as bad as people make it out to be. DD transitioned in a week or two. I started with the soft spout cups and she was fine.

Re: Getting rid of bottles
My "plan" is to wean them off within a few months. They are down to 2 bottles (morning/night) and I really don't think they even noticed. By 15 months they should be bottle free!

Getting rid of bottles
Are your DC's drinking a lot out of the sippy/straw cups? DD will goof around with her sippy but drink very little out of it. Idk how to get her to drink enough milk/fluids. I don't want her to get dehydrated since its still very warn out.

Re: Getting rid of bottles
We did it cold turkey too. I packed them away one day and did not cave in. Our friends just had a baby so we told DD that we were giving them to the baby and that big girls use sippy cups. She's been bottle free for about 3 weeks now. She asks for it every now and then but we just remind her that we gave them to the baby and that seems to satisfy her. Good luck!

Re: Getting rid of bottles
DH packed them all away this morning and DS did pretty good with his first sippy of milk. He pretty much drank the whole thing. I tried a while back and he refused to drink the milk out of it at all even though he was good at drinking water from a cup so that is what had me most nervous. Lets see how bed time goes. He doesn't use it to fall asleep but he always has a bottle as part of his bedtime routine. Now I will just give it with dinner. Thanks for the tips.
