Getting induced...yikes!!!! need help!

So I went for my 40week today and because I've developed really painful gallstones, my dr. is having me induced...

So I go in Wed. nite for cervadil overnite, then being induced thursday morning.

I'm feeling REALLY anxious, nervous, scared, etc...

I had a TERRIBLE dream last night about the baby being born weird like a blob with no bones or arms or legs...and i cried when i remembered it. i'm just freaking out. DH thinks i'm nuts.

i am super excited to have our little guy join us, but the waiting and hoping that he's perfect is making me feel horrible.

any advice????

I felt like that. I completly panicked when they said they wanted to induce labor. It's perfectly normal. Most women when their water break freak out as well but we have a longer period of panic. We have anticipation of it. And who knows your water may break on it's own before then. It's not so bad actually they will brief you on what will happen over the next few hours when you get there. Like a PP said bring your ipod it's your best friend. Also have DH get a picture of you walking into the hospital preggers and coming out with DC.

Re: Getting induced...yikes!!!! need help!

I was sooo nervous when I found out I was being induced! I was crying and just stressed. i didn't sleep at ALL for two nights! Then, we got to the hospital and I was still a little nervous, but very anxious for dd to come out. I think it's totally normal. We wait 9 months for it and then it just happns!

don't stress to much, your LO will be here so soon and I'm sure everything will be FINE! try to relax...I know it's easier said than done, but TRY.

GOOD LUCK!!

I was induced put on cervadil overnight and then pitocin the next day. It wasnt so bad. DD is just fine. But just be prepared...the cervadil may bring on irregular contractions. I had alot of trouble sleeping. They offered me a sleeping pill which I didn't take. I would suggest taking it if its offered....you will need your energy for the next day!

Good luck!
My only advice is to be patient! It took well over 24 hours after starting the drugs that I was ready to push.

relax.....i've been induced and the best advice is to relax, the doctors know what to do. And if your planning on getting an epi or taking medication, don't try to be the hero and hold out, just do it before your in alot of pain and it makes the whole experience sooo much better.

I agree! I was induced and had a fantastic experience! It took 12 hours from start to finish, and I slept through the bulk of it. My OB gives the epidural before the picotin, so I slept through most of my contractions and they woke me when I reached 9-10cm. 30 minutes later, DD was out!
