Getting heels shortened?? can it really be done??

i LOVE my wedding shoes. but im nervous that theyre going to be a little too high to wear ALL day.

has anyone successfully gotten heels shortened?

my regular shoemaker guy on commack road said he doesnt do it!

oo AND it would be fantastic if you have a suffolk rec. im in smithtown!

ETA: i would LOVE about a 1/2 in shaved off.. but ill settle for 1/4

I got my wedding shoes shortened. I went to someone in the city on University Place, he was amazing. I have no idea if he's there or not, but he literally knew exactly how much he could take off without compromising the shoe....If they know what they're doing they'll be able to do it!!!

My wedding shoes were shortened by about a 1/2 inch. I think it depends on the shoe if it can be done. Many shoe makers don't want to risk it throwing the balance off and the shoe be ruined at their expense.

i've had it done to a pair of boots i think. my coworker gets it done a lot to her heels. i guess it depends on the shoe and how much they can take off w/o ruining it.

There USED to be a shoe maker in Smithtown right next to the movie theatre (looking at the theatre, it was on the left). I could be totally dating myself to think it's there anymore, but give it a try.
I have also been to on in Ronkonkoma. Take Portion to Hawkins and make a right and it's on the right side.
