Getting headaches in the beginning
ok, so i'm trying to change my eating habits/portions. i'm trying not to really "diet" by eating alot of Fat Free foods... just trying to eliminate junk and eat my more fruits/vegetables.
also, trying to eat small /frequent meals. for example, for breakfast i will have a yogurt with blueberries or a banana.. or an egg white omelette w/veggies and 1 slice whole wheat toast... then for lunch have a big salad (tomoatoes, chicken.. alll healthy sutff) but i find myself getting headaches and no energy to workout.
has this happened to anybody in the beginning? what am i doing wrong? any tips/suggestions

sounds like you're cutting most carbs, phase one of south beach. that's your body going through withdrawal. I suggest eating edamame or black beans, etc once per day to get rid of that. You should be fine after a few days.

Re: Getting headaches in the beginning
It happnes to me after an eating binge lol. It's sugar/carb withdrawal. It does go away after a few days. Your energy level should increase too. Try not to eat less than 1200 calories in a day though because then you may not have enough energy to work out and you'll crash.

I was going to say the same thing as the above posters- cutting carbs. You also said you were eating less junk- are you cutting caffiene (soda, chocolate, etc.). You could be having caffiene withdrawl. Just push through it.

perhaps its caffeine, sugar or carb withdrawal. are you also getting enough water? that's a big one. green smoothies always help me get an energy boost.

Re: Getting headaches in the beginning
i recently cut most carbs, and dairy out of my diet. partly for weight loss, but mostly for health. i'm lactose and gluten intolerant.
for the first week or so i had headaches and was nauseous every day. now, about 3 weeks later i feel so much better. i'm willing to bet that it was withdrawls from the carbs and sugar. give it another week or so and see how you feel!

Re: Getting headaches in the beginning
thanks for all your all your replies. i'm not a big caffeine person. always have just 1 cup with skim and no sugar. i rarely had soda... mostly water.
i guess its just a matter of getting to used to it. i just steamed some brocolli and am kind of full trying to drink alot of water.
i really need to stick to this.. just want to stay away fro bad carbs like pizza, pasta, bread, etc... unfortunately, this is biggest downfall. i LOVE pizza... but it also loves me
