Ugh! I would like to have some tips as well...It's no so much that I am straving, just that I am so sick of the same old things I'm eating.

Re: gestational diabetes and starving!
Have you tried making green smoothies? Sounds nasty but actually pretty good. An easy one is spinach, some avocado, 1/2 banana and frozen blueberries. Not sure ifyou had to cut out fruit? Add about a cup of water and blend up. I generally add extra ice too. You don't taste the spinach at all and the avo is a nice healthy fat.

Re: gestational diabetes and starving!
I found myself hungry a lot especially towards the end.. I don't know if you're staying away from artificial sweeteners but I did the sugar free instant pudding with cool whip since that was considered a free food. Instead of doing cheese with crackers I had started to do cheese with pepperoni. And than basically I had string cheese ALL the time.

Re: gestational diabetes and starving!
lets say i sleep in .. i eat oatmeal with nuts a little brown sugar around 11 or a scooped out whole wheat bagel with american cheese. then i go to work. by 1230 beyond starving....but usally busy at work so i eat a greek yogurt. but shouldnt be eating bc i need to wait two hours intbetween to test sugars. whatever.
so then when i can i eat small side salad with italian..then eggsalad on whole wheat...or a grilled cheese.
dinner...maybe wendys chic sandwhich or taquitos at home.
inbetween lunch and dinner ...i graze on nuts, string cheeses...every hour or so.
maybe i can go a few hours not eating but its rare.
i still have ALOT of food aversions so for example i cant eat peanut butter.
oh and no artificial sweetners and no fruit in the am.
nothing holds me over and stuff that could...i just cant get down my throat without gagging! oh and not allowed to eat cold cuts either

Re: gestational diabetes and starving!
I really think you need more of an eating schedule.
I try to wake up the same time and eat around the same times every day. I'm not allowed to have oatmeal in the morning, so that's out for me. I think you need more protein and less carbs in the morning.
I eat 2 whole eggs (cooked any way you like) and 1 slice of Sara Lee 45 cal bread. You can add cheese and veggies to your eggs too.
2 hours later I have a snack. You should try to balance your carbs and proteins in your snack as well. I eat 1/2 a WW English muffin with chunky peanut butter, but you can have something different like a protein bar.
2-3 hours later I have lunch. You can have a big salad, egg salad on whole wheat. That's a good meal. Or a nice bowl of chili with a salad. Make sure you are getting your proteins! That's what's going to keep you full.
2 hours later is another snack. My favorite is a small bag of microwave popcorn and a handful of cashews.
3 hours later is dinner. I usually have baked chicken or steak with a small amount of brown rice and lots of veggies or salad.
Before bed, I have another snack.
I really think the best thing would be to add more protein to your meals!

Re: gestational diabetes and starving!
U r right. When I try to eat eggs in am I puke. Peanut butter I puke. Sometimes chicken sends me reeling. I just feel like giving up. And a lot of times at work I donmt get breaks or lunch breaks so I eat asap and can't eat salads to help fill up. I need to talk to my doc or something cause this blows and my blood sugars keep dipping way too low inbetween meals. Ty for ur help anmd showing me what u do!

Re: gestational diabetes and starving!
I think you are probably not eating enough of the right foods. I don't have GD with this pregnancy but I'm still tracking my food every day since I did Weight Watchers for 18 months prior to getting pregnant. I've been tracking daily for over 2 years now. I can give you an idea of what I had today...just for an idea. I also tet my blood sugar so I'll add my test times and numbers in there also.
Fasting Blood Sugar: 79 7am: 1.5 cups cinnamon life cereal 1 cup skim milk Coffee w/ 2 TBSP Fat Free Half & Half
9:30am- blood sugar 72 before eating 1 hard boiled egg 2 clementines
11:30am - leftover chicken, carrot and snap pea pod stir fry over whole wheat noodles
2:00 - blood sugar 109 Medium Decaf Skim Latte bowl of grapes handful of pretzels
Dinner: 5:30pm Homemade "Loaded Potato Soup" with 1 slice of crumbled bacon on top and some chives Mini Ham sandwich (hawaiian roll with 2 slices thin sliced reduced sodium boar's head ham, honey dijon mustard)
7:30pm Blood Sugar 111
Dessert: 6 ounce cup FF Plain Greek Yogurt 1 teaspoon honey 1/2 cup fresh pineapple sprinkle of multigrain cheerios
