Gestational Diabetes and Empire Ins question

Does anyone get there testing supplies through empire insurance (the gov't plan)?

My Dr's office called the pharmacy today to get my supplies and they said I wasn't covered. I never heard of such a thing. As far as I know all ins carriers cover diabetes testing supplies.

My husband has type 2 diabetes and we have Empire. He gets his supplies through the mail. His supplies come from Liberty Medical. He just got a box yesterday. Try calling the Empire number and they will help you. The same thing happened to him he went to the pharmacy and he was denied.

We have the same insurance and while we're not dealing with Diabetes, DH has some other medications that have to be specially ordered.

Empire has contracts with certain companies to provide those supplies / medications....so if you just go to your regular pharmacy, you will be denied. As the pp suggested, if you call Empire, they'll walk you through how and where to get the supplies so they are covered.

i dont have empire but my insurance covered my glucose monitor. i pay for my test strips and needles though. although i dont think full price
