Gerber good start formula
Anyone good or bad experiences with this formula. We have tried enfamil, similac sensitive, similac advanced and enfamil gentle ease. He still seems gassy and doesn't sleep. The Dr. told us to try Gerber good start gentle. I hate to keep on changing his formula but I don't know what else to do.
I also breastfeed a few times a day.

Re: Gerber good start formula
We supplemented with Good Start and I was very happy with it. It didn't have that "formula" smell either. I would use it again in a heartbeat.

Re: Gerber good start formula
We use Gerber goodstart gentle. DD does very well on it. Ped recommended we switch to it from similac.

Re: Gerber good start formula
I use it with my DD. No problems what so ever. Very happy with it and wish I had used it with my other kids instead of spending more money on Similac. My Ped highly recommended it to us too. I use the Gentle one. DD was a gassy baby too and this seemed to help a lot.

Re: Gerber good start formula
I switched DS1 to it from similac after 4 weeks and it was great! He did so well on it, he had been so uncomfortable with gas and after a week on this formula he was so much better.
I switched DS2 to it after 2 weeks (I was 95% BF...but he is now 100% FF). I would totally recommend it.

Re: Gerber good start formula
My little one had really bad gas and after tons of recommendations, we switched her over to Good Start. She ended being the minority who didn't do well with it. She didn't like it at all and it gave her diarrhea. She ultimately ended up on Similac Sensitive for Fussiness & Gas.
Remember that sometimes we have to go through several different formulas though to find the right one for your baby.

Re: Gerber good start formula
How are you preparing the formula? My DS was so fussy and gassy and I noticed so much air in his formula. I was preparing each bottle individually and letting it sit in the refrigerator until we were ready. There was always foam on top of the formula, so much so I was skimming it off! I bought the Dr. Brown's formula pitcher this weekend and his formula no longer looks full of air and his gas and fussiness has decreased!

We use the ready to use formula ( not powder). We keep it in a pitcher in the fridge and make a bottle as needed.

Re: Gerber good start formula
I know many infants that did well on this formula. My DS was in the minority and was awful on it.

Re: Gerber good start formula
We have finally switched over to ONLY using this, after using mostly Gentlease and then both that and Gerber. (The Simulac made him throwup)
It def. has helped more with his gas and fussiness from it. the bonus is that it is cheaper than the other name brands!

Re: Gerber good start formula
Thanks everyone! I guess it's worth trying out. Hopefully it works and DS can sleep a little better.

Re: Gerber good start formula
DD was breastfed and I supplamented with Good Start Gentle. Then at 6mon we had to stop bfing and went 100% to GS Gentle. I LOVED it and already bought 2 cans in case we need it for #2. I have to admit though I only went to Gerber because I had killer coupons and store coupons so I always got it for super cheap! I was always very happy with it and Emmy did great on it. She was gassy as well and with this formula and the tommee tippee bottles until 4 months and mam bottles after that we saw a drastic decrease in her gas!
