General Cost for an Inspector-NJ
Hey guys!
so our offer has been accepted and now it's about to go into attorney review.
so I'd like to know (roughly) the general cost to have the inspection. if want to give me a range.. I'll gladly accept it!

Inspectors seem to range $400-$600

we had a fantastic inspector from arrow ... it was 400 that incldued termite and radon

i think we paid $485 and that included radon and termite inspection. i used someone that was recommended by another LIFer, but my REA also had a company that they used that was a little cheaper. i went with the inspector we used because he was also an engineer not just a home inspector. where in NJ are you?

thanks for your advice.. we're in union. I think DH got a quote for $500 to do everything..

not sure exactly... but just DON"T go with American Home Consultants. We are selling our house in Morris county, and the buyers used them. The guy made several obvious mistakes on the inspection ( wrote that our driveway is gravel, when its paved. also said we had city water and sewer when its a well and septic. the septic inspector was there the same time the home inspector was!! hello!!! ) again, not sure how much they paid, but whatever it was it was too much- LOL! DH is an engineer and his boss used to do home inspections so when we bought the house, we just had him do it, and he didn't want any money. Good luck! and welcome to NJ!
