gender poll
based on observation (of my friends and relatives), the most reliable indicator of baby gender is the father's siblings' gender...
for example, i thought we were having a boy bc dh has 2 brothers, his father has 4 brothers, etc...
did this hold true for anyone else?

i dont see why this would make any sense considering the 50/50 shot of a sperm being male or female.
my DH has two brothers and one sister. our first baby was a girl.

It's funny I also heard it could go by the father's side, but you had to look at your DH father and then his father, etc. My DH is an only child. His father has one sister and three brothers. If you go by my side, I have a sister and a brother. My dad was an only child, but did have a little sister who died as an infant. Me and DH have a boy and girl. Seems like on both our sides of our family it is mixed genders.

It is not true as far as the siblings go but I did notice that almost all of his cousins had girls first and so are we. Not sure if there is anything to that or it is just a coincendence.

My DH's siblings all have equal girls and boys. Four siblings (2 brothers and 2 sisters) - 5 nieces and 5 nephews. We're going to upset the balance with our But, my mother had 2 girls and my sister had 2 girls.

Not the case here-
DH has 4 brothers and 1 sister.
We are having our 2nd girl in a few months.
It did hold true for my mom- my dad has 3 sisters, no brothers and she had 2 girls as well.
