Do you have to test one or two hours after a meal? And, if you're comfortable, can you share which Maternal Fetal Medicine practice you see.

I'm a little up in the air about this whole GD thing. Yes, they told me I failed my 3 hour, but only the middle 2 numbers out of the 4, and they only were slightly higher than they wanted.

I saw the nutritionist at Madonna. I also have high blood pressure, so the menu ideas she mapped out for me where low sodium as well.

So, it's the week before Christmas, I've been baking (and sampling) cookies all week and have been to a office dinner and luncheon, where I ate what was there.

I am required to test 4x a day. Morning fasting, and 2 hours after breakfast, lunch and dinner.

So far, my highest blood sugar reading has been 108. This is again, after eating without much worry about the GD. Yes, bad I know, but my numbers in the past 10 days have average in the 80's after every meal.

It's not as hard as I imagined it would be.

i had to test 2 hours after meals, as well as fasting. post-meal had to be below 120. fasting, below 80. never had a problem with fasting number. post-meal numbers gradually rose as my pregnancy progressed (just like I was told they might), but never enough to warrant medication.

i went to Madonna (the Mineola location). it really isn't that bad, and honestly i think it was a blessing in disguise to have had to watch what I ate.

The diet was annoying, but it made me accountable, and I gained very little weight throughout the pregnancy.
