GD Fasting Numbers

I was put on glyburide to control my fasting numbers and for the last month or so my numbers have been good....

But now, my fasting numbers are coming up and I am getting readings in the low to mid 90s...

Has this happened to anyone else??? Is it because the baby is getting bigger now??

Re: GD Fasting Numbers

Yes...this happened to me. I had to increase my dose twice as my preg. progressed..I believe it is because as you become more preg. your resistance to insulin changes...

Don't stress, it's normal..I was frustrated because I thought it was me. But, I told my doc. my diet didn't change and he just upped the dose.

Good luck!

Re: GD Fasting Numbers

Totally normal! In fact, my peri reminds me at every appointment that it will just continue to get harder as the pregnancy progresses.

I'm in the same boat. Just spent 2 1/2 weeks on glyburide and was feeling really good about the numbers staying down and then, out of nowhere, hit my first 92 today. Two more times this week and they'll up my dosage again.

My doc wants my fasting numbers under 90. Chat Icon

Re: GD Fasting Numbers

My dr wants my fasting 90 or under. I was on insulin with Dd and my #'s were still off. With this pregnancy I'm on Metformin just recently. Yes as the pregnancy progresses it is harder to keep ur #'s under control its frustrating.

Re: GD Fasting Numbers

Yup, I was told they need to be under 90. The doctor just told me to up my glyburide dosage and see if that does the trick!!! Hopefully, it will!!
