Re: gas help

How old? breast fed or formula? It's normal for a BF baby to not poop for days. Not sure what's normal for formula. I either give Mylicon Gas drops or Gripe Water. Both seem to help my DS when he is gassy and uncomfortable. Google the fussy baby hold, and try holding her like that and walking around...or baby wearing helps too. Pump her legs, and bicycle legs to get things moving. I've heard the thermometer trick works (use Vaseline, too).

Good luck!

Do you use powdered formula?
If so, add a little bit of extra water to it. That always helped with my son.
Ex: 2 1/2 oz water to one scoop formula.

Re: gas help

We switched DS to Gentlease at about 6 weeks and started putting gas drops in every bottle. It helped sooooo much!

Good luck!

Re: gas help

Gripe water worked WAY better than gas drops for us. It was like magic potion.

I was told that baby farts shouldn't have a terrible foul odor... and that it was a signal of an allergy.

At least that's what I was told with dd... Her farts could clear a room, and she had issues with the formula. She ended up on nutramigen, and we could all breathe again. :)

This is very interesting. My Ds's farts are toxic. He has what appears to be terrible gas pain. He also spits up his entire bottle 80% of the time. It the second he is put down he spits up. He was on breast milk and was just switched to gerber good start this week. ( he is two months old but a preemie so adjusted he is only 1 week old)
We are seeing the ped on Tuesday so I will bring this up.

I hope he feels better. Let me know if it was just crazy advice I received, but nutramigen really did help!
